This is a wonderful Earl Robbins King Hagler Pipe made by Earl in 1990. Master Potter Earl Robbins (1923-2010) had just begun creating his Catawba legacy, when he made this King Hagler Head Pipe. It is simply a masterpiece in art and symmetry. The firing finished color scheme, with just over half black and then orange on the other half of the face, is particularly eye-appealing. The incised detail of eyebrows and head dress is beautiful. The pipe stands 2.75″ tall by the same length. Earl's pottery is normally more monumental, and this is a great example of an equal caliber, but smaller nature pot. Mint condition. $10 s/i.
