Rodney Leftwich is a famed potter and NC pottery collector/historian. His pottery shop in Buncombe County, NC. It is a miracle that he with us because he was very ill with cancer several years ago. His pottery does not very commonly come on the market. In this face jug, made circa 2000 by him, he uses a double dip glaze approach. This is very nice, and that fact, along with the facial features, create a nice southern folk face jug. The over/upper glaze I would describe as frogskin. Inscribed RHL Maker on the back side. The face jug stands 8″ tall by 5.5″ max width. Mint condition.
