This is a Walter Fleming Walter 1/2 G snake jug, made in the 2000'.s He learned a few things early on from Burlon, but pretty much is a self-taught Catawba Valley potter. He is a retired Presbyterian minister and has his pottery shop in Statesville, NC. The snake that Walter face jugs always has lots of character. He may not go crazy with a straw, creating endless number scales, as some other southern potters and very neat, but this snake is his own original design. The glass runs are a nice addition. The jug stands 9″ tall by 6.5″ max width. Signed in his script stamp on base. Mint condition. $30 s/i.
