This peculiar Walter Fleming vase was turned and fired circa 2008. This vase & the glaze firing is so very different from most Walters; it has many aspects of art pottery. Walter learned a few things early on from Burlon Craig, but pretty much is a self-taught Catawba Valley potter. He is a retired Presbyterian minister and has his pottery shop in Statesville, NC. This four-handled vase has a lot of character. The vase's glaze is a dark forest green alkaline dripping towards its base. There are nice contrasting lighter green drippings decorating each handle bar. The four-handled vase stands 9.25″ tall by 7″ max width. Mint Condition. $85 & 18 s/i.
