Catawba Valley collectors love collecting Charlie’s minis and this is a rare lidded jar example. Simply a mastery of mini craftsmanship. The pot comes from a recent wood-firing. The glaze is the classic drippy dark alkaline of the Catawba Valley. There is a reason folks love the minis like this-they are so eye-appealing (and fit on the shelf so to speak as many collectors tell NCPottery.com). The accompanying lid fits neatly onto the inner lip, while the jar is graced with the lug handles. There are two sets of incised lines, which capture more of the glaze, hence are darker in appearance. Charlie employs his stamp ‘CL’ near the base edge. The piece stands 3.75″ tall by 3 ” max width.
