Here is an amazing Clint Alderman #1 Fish Decorated Salt Glaze Pitcher. 2009. Some of you whom know folks associated w/ the website Chad Smith & Joe English, might know we helped fire this piece back in the day. What is also neat, is the connection of the incised fish decoration that Clint began to use that year. Prior to that point, my friend & now in Hickory pottery Matt Hallyburton (the one that turned in my basement for 3 years and now is at Hickory), decided to take the Webster concept and apply a fish to a jug. Then Chad Smith took his cue on some of his jugs. Clint then started employing this on his pieces. I love this connection amongst them, but Clint ups the ante and adds the setting with further decoration. Amongst the waves, there is a fish applied to each side of the pitcher. The cobalt just adds a nice touch. The pitcher stands 9.5” by 6” max width. Mint condition.
