Clint Alderman Pottery Salt Glaze Jug
Clint Alderman Pottery Salt Glaze Jug
This is one of the rare salt-glaze pots, turned by Clint Alderman, from the famous ‘last firing’ at Hartwell. This is the only salt-glaze firing that Clint plans to conduct. Clint decorated the jug, not only with cobalt, but also kaolin as a glaze for the ‘2’ mark background. The evenly fired, really nice shiny salt-glaze finish, covering the whole body of the jug, is quite impressive. It wasn’t a specific set he made, but just a FYI, that Clint also turned similar 4 and 6 G versions of this form for the firing. The jug stands a monumental 13.5” tall by 10” max width. A very thorough inscription of the importance of this firing was incised by Clint on the base. $30 s/i.
