Joe Reinhardt, a former brick mason, had to give up that trade up years ago due to an injury. He also lives across the Craig homeplace in Vale, NC. Being friends with Burlon, he picked up some pointers from Burlon and began turning out his own pottery about a 1/4 century ago. Also he built his own wood-fired kiln which is an engineering work in its own right, being a stone mason. This particular vase I would categorize to be truly in the tradition of the early art pottery from the CV. Absolutely graceful and beautiful swirl piece with 2 handles that even employ swirl. The vase stands 13″ tall by 10.5″ max width. $35 s/i.
