Matt Hallyburton is a Durham-based artist and expert potter. He is originally from the Catawba Valley. He has taken a keen interest in utilizing local clays. The famed Rhodes Clay hole, in which all the famous CV potters, from Daniel Seagle to Burlon Craig, still yields extremely high quality clay. Matt is able to turn 100 % Rhodes Clay pots. The clay mix he employed from the Rhodes location, fired as a dark alkaline pot. Absolutely beautiful and he graced the jug with a glass run decoration. The jug is incredibly light. The jug stands 6″ tall by 5″ max width. One of the marks Matt used for a time, was from his street address, 811. And that is marked on the base of the jug. Mint condition. $12 s/i.
