NC Pottery is pleased to offer this rare Matt Jones bottle style salt glazed face jug from 2014. He turned just a handful of this style. Also the bottle style of pot is one of the more difficult to turn. Matt Jones moved to the Buncombe Country area and he currently fires in Leicester North Carolina. He was once an apprentice of Mark Hewitt. NC Pottery has a strong personal connection and loyalty to Matt Jones. One time, NC Pottery helped him sell at his booth while he took a break from selling pottery. Matt Jones' face jugs are extremely rare; in fact, he makes approximately one dozen face jugs annually. He consistently produces pieces known for their ornate complexities. This face jug in particular has a forest green colored salt glaze, white eyes and a distant stare and a fierce smile.
