Earl Robbins Pottery Monkey Jug SC

Monkey Jug made by Earl Robbins in the classic Catawba tradition. Catawba Indian Master Potter Earl Robbins (1923-2010) didn't begin in pottery until 1989, and for just over a 15 year period, created a whole legacy. It is simply a masterpiece in art and symmetry. The firing finished color scheme, mostly black and then hues of mostly orange w/ a touch of gray, is particularly eye-appealing. Then the finely incised detail of the feathers/leaves graces the jug. The height is 8.5″, with a base of 8 inches across, and 12 inches at its widest point. Mint condition (and it a rare to find large Catawba pots w/ out 'fire' or 'spirit' cracks as they call them). $25 s/i.
