This is an over-the-top piece by the late potter John Meaders (1916-1999) of GA. Son of famed potters Cheever & Arie, brother of Lanier & Edwin, all of Mossy Creek area of Georgia. An absolutely extra-ordinary example of folk pottery for the collector who likes a big piece of pottery (i.e. compared to most mugs!). This is a wood-fired drippy alkaline glaze. The mug stands 7″ tall by 7.5 max width. Mint condition. $20 s/i.
